Days:   Wednesday evenings on Jan 9, Jan 30, Feb 13, Mar 13

Squads

  • Squads are limited to 9-10 shooters per start time.
  • Start Times are at 6:00 pm, 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm
  • Cost: $15

Please come 15-20 minutes prior to your start time - to give yourself enough time to sign in, pay, and gear up.  We will make every attempt to start ON TIME.

If you are a newer shooter - please send Mike Barrera an email to answer your questions and/or to make sure we have a mentor to assist you at the match.

This match will be run on a COLD RANGE.  Everyone in the bay must have UNLOADED guns in bags and on their person.  A "SAFE AREA" will be designated (clearly marked in the bay) where competitors may take handle, or store / remove unloaded guns from their bag.  IF YOU COME TO RANGE CARRYING A LOADED GUN (E.G. CONCEALED CARRY) - LET ONE OF THE SAFTEY OFFICERS KNOW - AND THEY WILL ASSIST YOU IN TRANSITIONING TO THE COLD RANGE.

WHAT TO EXPECT (and BRING) to the match

IDPA at Firing Line

The Firing Line offers a great chance to shoot an indoor IDPA match.  The match will last 1 hour, and will consist of 2-3 IDPA scenarios.  We will be following all the IDPA competition and safety rules, and match scores will be posted on this web site.

IDPA matches will be open to all people who can legally own a handgun, and give you a chance to learn IDPA rules, as well as practice using your self-defense handguns and holsters.  We welcome new IDPA shooters to come and try out this action shooting sport, and new CPL holders are especially encouraged to attend.

Shooters will follow IDPA rules and techniques; as well have the chance to practice defensive shooting skills in simulated “self defense” scenarios.  We will use the following skills:

-- Drawing from Concealment

-- Shooting while moving

-- Using appropriate cover while engaging targets

-- Shooting from kneeling or prone positions

-- Shooting at moving targets

-- Emergency (slide lock) reloads

-- Tactical reloads

-- Low light scenarios with (and without) flashlights

What Equipment do I need?

IDPA guns

Service type pistol or revolver of 9mm/.38 special or lager caliber. If your handgun is suitable for self-defense use, it will probably be competitive for IDPA matches.

Practical concealed carry type holsters are stipulated for IDPA use. A common service pistol or revolver such as a Beretta 92F, Glock 17/22, Sig 226, Colt 1911A1, S&W 686 or Ruger GP-100 carried in a common pancake style holster is all that is needed to be competitive in IDPA matches

The holster must be belt-mounted on your strong (or "shooting") side.  May be inside the waistband or outside the waistband but holster MUST cover trigger guard.  No ankle, shoulder, cross-draw or small of the back holsters).

Tactical-style Flashlight (will be provided if you don't have one)

WEAPON MOUNTED LIGHTS and LASERs will be allowed.  (This will be different equipment division)

You should also bring two extra magazines (or speed loaders) and two magazine holders for your belt

Concealment Garment.  (Vest, sweater, jacket, loose shirt, etc.)

The match will required 50-70 shots.  So bring at least 80-100 rounds of ammunition (in case of re-shoots)
